The last two days in Scotland

The last two days have been filled with more beautiful scenery in Scotland, as well as a lot of driving. Yesterday, we left Inverness and made it to St. Andrews.  Today was a day in St. Andrews and we are now waiting to board the Caledonian Sleeper train back to London.  We board at 11 pm, depart Edinburgh at 11:40 and arrive in London at 7:00 am.  Here's hoping to getting some sleep on the train.

Thursday, 7/6/17:

We headed towards Glenfiddich to check out a distillery.  There are many distilleries to choose from, but Matt and Em wanted to check out this one because when their dad would have a Scotch, he would have a Glenfiddich.  Here's John and Abby in front of one of the stone buildings:

Matt and Emily pondering the scotch tasting.

Overall, I think they found that the Scotch tasting wasn't for them, but it was fun trying it out.

And we got a few funny pictures as well:

This one was after taking  one of Matt and Emily in front of a stone stag and Glenfiddich sign, when we realized the better picture would be to make Emily look like she had ears and horns.

And John photobombing.

Next, we went to Bolmoral Castle, the summer home of the queen and the royals.  It's only open until the end of July because after that, the Queen will actually be living here.  We did the tour around the grounds.  They only let you in a bit of the actual castle, which was disappointing.  I would have liked to have seen the Queen's rooms.

And, further proof that Matt is a great dad, when kids are tired at the end of the day and we won't let them sit on the ground, they each took a foot of Matt's and plopped down for a little rest.

And more John outtakes and silliness.
